What is Dimple Creation Surgery?

Creation of dimples of the cheeks and chin.

Examination

Mr Kassam will examine your face and together with the patient decide on the most suitable place for dimples after taking your wishes into account.

How its done?

The principle behind the surgery is to cause the cheek muscle and the skin to become one unit in that place so when the muscle are active the dimple shows up.

The procedure is done under local anaesthetic and a dissolving sutures is used. No suture needs to be removed later.

Post procedure

Soft diet and analgesia for 5 days.

Results

Initially the dimples will be there all the time but as they heal will only be prominent when smiling / talking.

Risks

There is a small chance that the dimples will not be there permanently and and rarely mild facial weakness or damage to the salivary duct.
